POULTRY HEALTH CHECK GUIDE
If you think there is a bird showing symptoms of a catastrophic disease at health check, please:
Stop Coop-in.
Quarantine.
Divert arriving exhibitors.
Have Fair staff call the Fair’s contracted veterinarian.
If the veterinarian confirms your suspicions of a severe disease situation, then call CDFA’s Hot-Line
1-866-922-2473. Your call will be routed to the appropriate CDFA Field Veterinarian.
Health Check
Below, you can see what should and should not be allowed into the fairs. At the health check, you should look for particular signs of the following four conditions:
- Severe diseases.
- Unwanted conditions
- Conditions needing attention post-show
- Normal conditions that may suggest abnormalities or diseases
